An update from the Board of Seesaw, WA’s Arts Magazine

14 June 2024

Managing Editor Nina Levy and Business and Marketing Manager Gabrielle Sullivan have now stepped away from their paid positions at Seesaw due to the financial constraints on our organisation.

The Board of Seesaw Magazine is committed to finding a sustainable pathway for WA’s only dedicated multi-arts publication for the benefit of artists, audiences and the wider public.

Managing Editor Nina Levy and Business and Marketing Manager Gabrielle Sullivan have now stepped away from their paid positions at Seesaw due to the financial constraints on our organisation.

Seesaw remains on pause, as outlined in our statement in September 2023. Operations are now being managed directly by members of the Seesaw Board.

The Seesaw Board thanks Nina and Gabrielle for all their hard work and their passionate development of Western Australian arts writers and promotion of artists and arts organisations through Seesaw Magazine.

We seek to continue that mission once Seesaw re-emerges as a sustainable force for independent professional arts journalism. Our initial intention was to resume publication in mid-2024 but circumstances require us to extend our pause until the end of the year as we continue to work on a long-term financial solution.

As we said last September, this does NOT mean that Seesaw will disappear. We simply need more time to build a strong base for a sustainable future.

If you’d like to get in touch, you can contact Board Chair Natalie Jenkins or Deputy Chair Stephen Bevis by emailing hello@seesawmag.com.au

Thanks so much for your support of Seesaw Magazine. Expect to hear more in coming months about how YOU can help Seesaw press ‘play’ again on its coverage to shine a much-needed light on arts and culture in Western Australia.
