One of the world’s leading improvising musicians, Scott Tinkler is well-known for his many incarnations as an ensemble player, solo and recording artist.
His extensive body of work spans over 30 years as a musician and composer with over 30 recordings released including ARIA-award-winning albums, The Future in Today, and Mark Simmonds FIRE.
Scott has received numerous prestigious awards including the Australia Council Fellowship, and Melbourne Music Prize. He has travelled the globe performing in countries as far-flung as China, Egypt, America, Vietnam, France, India, Germany, Mexico, Korea, Japan, Norway and Tanzania.
Now residing on a remote Tasmanian island, he continues to develop his unique approach to the trumpet as well as to explore and develop the intricacies of improvisation.
Tinkler is in Perth as part of the Perth International Jazz Festival 2021, showcasing his talents with a special afternoon solo show at the stunning new WA Museum Boola Bardip. And you could be there.
